06. Laser Hair Removal

Our lasers/IPL are among the few in the Kansas City Metro Area that can treat ALL skin types for hair removal, including ethnic skin types. We have the newest and most effective technology to protect pigmented skin.

Don't be taken in  by clinics offering "package deals" or cheap prices and performing them with low quality machines with a potential for greater risk and adverse reactions.  Be careful about false "guarantees" that come with a much higher price per treatment. Patient's should compare the overall cost of the entire treatment program.

Prices posted below are all individual treatments.

These are  technician performed hair removal sessions at our clinic, with high quality equipment and with these great prices why would anyone want to risk an adverse event from a low quality machine at another clinic?

For the best permanent hair reduction, we recommend a minimum of five or six treatments in the same treatment area. Even doing one or two treatments results in significant hair reduction and decreases the coarseness of hair.

All pricing is by the "anatomical area".  For example, "leg" is the knee to the ankle zone, not the thigh.  The "back" is the back, so that shoulders or upper arm areas would each be a separate add on area.  Pricing is based on an "average size man or woman", so someone "tall or large" (creating an expanded surface area for the IPL/lasers to treat beyond average pulses and time could be "slightly" more), this can be discussed at the time of consult.

The procedures for Laser Skin Rejuvenation are often referred to as "Lunchtime Procedures" because they take about a half-hour to perform on average and do not have any major downtime or recovery period.

Depending on the area treated, there will be a series of five initial treatments that are about 2 to 3 weeks apart. Treatments usually take approximately 30 minutes and are administered in the doctor's office.

After the initial series of treatments, depending on clinical result, other follow-up treatments may be recommended (and you may well desire more, after seeing the positive benefits from the treatments). Often patients will want follow-up treatments at 6 month intervals to keep their skin looking the best they can look, and keep up the collagen stimulation.

09.  Sclerotherapy Injection of Veins

Our office no longer is doing sclerotherapy, because lasers outperform it, and sclerotherapy often causes "new vessels and matting of vessels 2-3 years after sclerotherapy", so you can actually worsen over time.  Go the laser way!
 
In general, Dr. Leiker feels your money is much better spent on laser vein treatment for smaller veins, larger varicose veins should be seen by a vascular surgeon.
 
Often, one treatment with the laser can accomplish what four or five sclerotherapy sessions could accomplish.

10. Skin Cancers & Skin Lesions Treatment

We no longer treat skin cancers.  We are only doing laser procedures at this time.

11. Vein Laser Treatments (Lower Extremities)

Prices are generally controlled by time of laser/physician ($150 per 15 minutes session of lasering time). At your consultation an estimate will be given. Often, only one to three treatments will be sufficient. In most cases, a 30 minute treatment session is sufficient for treating a large number of veins/vessels on the legs.

Moderate to severe spider veins can take at least several sessions to progressively clean up the area of the vessels.

OTHER:

(laser/physician time for vessel treatment is $150 per 15 minutes sessions of lasering time).

Many blood vessels respond nicely with one treatment, other's may require 2-3 treatments. This is one of the most difficult areas to predict cost without first having a clinical exam, because the number of blood vessels are so variable between patients. Generally, costs will be estimated based on $150 per 15 minute treatment session of physician/laser time. There is a $150 (one leg) minimum fee for all vein/vessel laser treatments and $200 minimum fee if both legs are treated on the same day.

12. Rosacea Treatment

Our clinic provides laser treatment for individuals with rosacea. The cost of rosacea treatment is dependent on the amount of area that needs to be treated. Generally, the price will vary from $200-$500 (see special for $300 for face) and the treatment is priced similarly to skin rejuvenation treatment/IPL photofacials.  We often have special coupons.

We offer laser consultations for all laser services, including rosacea treatment. We can give you a better price estimate with your consultation, based on the clinical exam of your cosmetic concerns. In most cases, we can commit to an exact fee after the laser consultation.

13. BOTOX® Treatment

Dr. Leiker has found that the injection of 70 units of Botox(R) Cosmetic, into several zones, provides the best long-term results and best over-all satisfaction among patients. 

We charge just over $10.00 per unit, which is among the lowest price around for "physician- performed" injections. 

Patients should be aware of “come on in gimmicks” and “over dilution” of Botox® that is not an uncommon practice in clinics.  For best results, 70 units can inject four areas including, the glabellar area, central forehead, and both lateral eye crow’s feet areas.  This will provide the best cosmetic results and will also provide the best long-term result with the most cost efficiency.

Though many people look to spend $200 to $300 per area, the lack of enough Botox(R) injected, in enough treatment zones or muscle areas makes for a poorer and more costly result in the long run for the patient.  Dr. Leiker always uses a new vial of Botox(R) for each patient, therefore giving the patient the best results. 

Our office has a minimum injection quantity of 70 units spread over generally four areas. Dr. Leiker charges $725 for 70 units in the four areas (most other clinics charge at least $200 to $300 per area which would equal to $800 to $1200 for four areas!).

14. Laser Tattoo Removal

The cost of laser tattoo removal varies depending on the size and treatment sessions required. Each patient will be provided with an estimate at their laser consultation with a physician. There is a minimum charge of $150 for a laser tattoo removal session.

15.  Lipo Dissolve Injections:

Some states are banning or severely restricting lipodissolve, and the original chemical used phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate.  Our clinic is now using a new formula for what we call injection lipolysis, which helps breakdown fats and improve cellulite.  The new formula only uses medication long approved by the FDA, and they have been well studied for effects on the body.  The use of these medications though for injection lipolysis is still considered an off-label use by the FDA.  We encourage people to also consider doing the newest FDA approved treatment called VelaShape, requires four sessions.  Do not be confused, this is not the old and less powerful Velasmooth.
